The museum’s wagon shop is our version of Gaunt’s wagon shop, located in the village of Monroe, NY. The wagon maker was part carpenter and part wheelwright, which was a specialized trade. The wagon shop was often located right next to the blacksmith shop in a 19th century village, as the two worked closely together to maintain wagons for the community. Here, you will see tools and materials of the wheelwright trade, as well as wagons.
